Community and connection are vital to the resilience of communities of color, especially at the beginning of the semester, which is one of the most pivotal moments for our students of color. Some students are embarking on a journey as one of the first in their family to attend a four-year college or University. Here at Cultural Services we honor and value all members of our UNC community, and wish to welcome our students.
We invite our students to join us for the 2020 virtual edition of our annual Cultural Services Welcome Extravaganza. During this year’s experience, students can meet new friends, engage with faculty and staff, as well as enjoy a Virtual Escape Room. Participants will also receive a coupon code for free delivery from our community partner, NoCo Nosh.
Both our student staff and professional staff wish to provide the services and resources to assist all members of our campus community. Holding true the vision of César Chávez Cultural Center, the namesake of one of four race-based Cultural Centers, “We cannot seek achievement for ourselves and forget about progress and prosperity for our community… Our ambitions must be broad enough to include the aspirations and needs of others, for their sakes and for our own.”
Let’s begin this semester together, in celebration of our communities.
We look forward to meeting and connecting with you!
