COVID-19 Housing Updates
We understand that safety measures and campus closures surrounding the COVID-19 may have impacted your Spring 2020 housing situation. Housing and Residential Education is working diligently on ways to support you during this time.
COVID-19 Safety at UNC
UNC will always prioritize student and campus community health and safety. UNC has been actively monitoring the evolving Coronavirus situation at a university level and is providing regular updates on our COVID-19 website.
If you do not have an alternative place to live, you can remain on campus through your housing contract following UNC's coronavirus protocols. If you are planning staying on campus for the remainder for the semester, let us know here.
It’s critical to take all recommended precautions to prevent the spread of COVID-19 while living on campus and in the residence halls by following these recommendations:
- Practice social distancing and maintain a 6-foot distance from other residents in the building
- Limit elevator rides to one person at a time
- If you’re experiencing symptoms, seek medical care by contacting your health care provided or the Student Health Center.
- Verify your emergency contact information in Ursa
What to Expect
Front desk operations and residence hall staffing (including RAs) will be limited. Check your BearMail regularly, as this is our primary method of communication.
To check in and answer any questions, the housing staff will conduct daily check-ins with students remaining on campus. Be sure to reply every day, as failure to do so will result in a wellness check.
