DESCRIPTION:The UNC Symphonic Band is a large\, audition-based ensemble dedicated to performing a wide range of significant wind literature. Under the direction of Dr. Fredrick Brown\, the group focuses on refining technical proficiency and artistic expression through a mix of cornerstone band classics and contemporary compositions. \nThe UNC Concert Band is the university’s most inclusive instrumental ensemble. While music majors may use it to gain experience on secondary instruments\, the group is primarily comprised of non-music majors from across the campus who wish to continue their musical journey in a supportive yet high-quality environment.

DESCRIPTION:In this presentation\, Dr. Doug Woody\, Professor in the School of Psychological Sciences\, will address common challenges related to scholarly collaboration and to the applications of our research. He will begin with traditional recommendations for identifying collaborators within our own research areas and then explore alternative approaches to collaboration across universities\, research topics\, and professional roles. Throughout the discussion\, he will emphasize both intentional collaboration strategies and the ways serendipity can enhance scholarly processes and outcomes. \nHe will also address the application of research findings.
