Other Experience

I joined the University of Northern Colorado in 2018 as the Writing Program Administrator and as an Assistant Professor in the English Department. Since joining UNC, the most rewarding part has been getting to know the students and collaborating with colleagues across campus.

My approach to my role as a DRC Faculty Ambassador is largely inspired by my own research on accessibility and writing pedagogy. I received my PhD in Composition, Rhetoric, and Literacy Studies from the University of Oklahoma.

I currently live in Loveland, CO with my husband Eric and our three kiddos. When I’m not keeping busy with courses and program administration, you can find me hiking, rafting, skiing, and enjoying our beautiful state!

I really enjoy talking about inclusivity and am committed to anti-ableist efforts in higher education. Reach out to me at tara.wood@unco.edu!
