Other Experience

I joined the University of Northern Colorado in 2007 as an assistant professor of nursing.

Since joining UNC, the most rewarding part of my work has been working with students, followed closely by developing life-long friendships with faculty colleagues.

My approach to my role as a DRC Faculty Ambassador is largely inspired by nurses with disabilities who are making a difference in patients’ lives each and every day!

I am a graduate of University of Arizona, where I majored in nursing and minored in physiology. I currently live in Ft. Collins with my husband Chris, and two children, Nickolas and Olivia. When I’m not keeping busy with work, you can find me coaching youth soccer.

I would be happy to discuss my work with the DRC, in particular related to supporting students in clinical settings. Please reach out via email: melissa.henry@unco.edu.
