Other Experience

I joined the University of Northern Colorado in 1996 as an undergrad, 2016 as a graduate student, and in 2019 as a lecturer in history! Once a bear, always a bear!

Since joining UNC, the most rewarding part has been working with our incredible students. I am so excited to see their passion, open hearts, and care for each other. I have also been so grateful the amazing friends I have made on staff. People here are so welcoming!

My approach to my role as a DRC Faculty Ambassador is largely inspired by the students that I have seen overcome crazy challenges to do incredible work which you’ll find reflected in my personal pedagogy and my work on campus.

I am a graduate of UNC where I majored in History with an emphasis in LGBTQ History. I currently live in Greeley just a few blocks away from campus with my partner Philosophy professor Jeff Cook, my amazing children Augie and Becket, and the queen of our family, a nine-pound chihuahua named Rigby. When I’m not keeping busy observing student teachers you can find me skiing at Winter Park.

If you’re looking for someone to talk to about my work with the Disability Resource Center, I am your person! I am passionate about helping staff, faculty, and students level the playing field for all learners. My office is in Ross Hall: 3294. kelly.langleycook@unco.edu.
