Coronavirus Task Force

UNC's Coronavirus Task Force,  originally formed in the spring, has restarted and is designed to quickly respond to the evolving COVID-19 situation this fall. The task force has five committees:

  • Academic Affairs Leadership Team (Faculty Impacts Committee)
  • Communications and Outreach Committee
  • Logistics and Infrastructure Committee
  • Student Impacts Committee
  • Testing, Tracing, and Public Health Committee

Associate Vice President for Administration Blaine Nickeson will chair the overall Coronavirus Task Force and act as a conduit between the committees and the President's Cabinet.

Re-Entry Task Force

The re-entry task force co-chaired by Provost Mark Anderson and Vice President Katrina Rodriguez met over the summer to determine which fall courses required on-campus delivery, which courses were preferred for on-campus delivery but could have been offered virtually, and which ones were online ready.

The task force also worked with a logistics group to determine such things as classroom configurations and foot-traffic flow in buildings to help ensure social distancing. 

The Re-Entry Task Force hosted an open for faculty, students, and staff on Thursday, August 20 to address questions from the UNC community regarding our return to campus and the ongoing impacts of COVID-19 on our operations.
