UNC Campuses to Closed to the Public
In order to protect the health of our campus community and to do our part to flatten the curve as COVID-19 spreads, UNC campuses are closed to the public until further notice, except for essential personnel.

Campus Closures

Campus Commons: Closed to the public
There are limited personnel on-site, and most services are operating remotely.

Campus Recreation: Closed

This includes the following services/activities:

  • The Campus Recreation Center, Outdoor Pursuits Gear Shop and Swimming Pool
  • Fitness and Wellness, Intramural Sports, Club Sports and Outdoor Pursuits programs
  • All events scheduled at the Campus Recreation Center

Center for International Education Closed; working remotely

CIE is working remotely from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Monday-Friday by emailing cie@unco.edu or calling 970-351-2396.

The International Education team is working remotely from 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday-Friday and can be reached via email at cie@unco.edu or calling 970-351-2396.

  • Intensive English Program (IEP) delivers Spring 2020 courses remotely
  • International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) provides immigration advising to international students and scholars
  • Study Abroad and Exchange team supports students who are currently studying abroad or planning to participate in education abroad opportunities in the future
  • U.S. Passport Acceptance Agency at UNC is currently closed and is not offering passport or photo services until further notice

The center is also maintaining the 24/7 international emergency phone at 970-576-9572.

Counseling Center: Closed; working remotely

The Counseling Center staff is working remotely from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday.

Current clients will be seen through virtual formats. Student, faculty and staff can also receive 'drop-in’ services between the hours of 8 a.m.-noon and 1 p.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday by emailing the center at UNCCounselingcenter@unco.edu or calling 970-351-2496. A counselor will reach out to them as soon as possible.

After-hour services are also available by calling 970-315-2496, option 2.

Dining Services:

Holmes Dining Hall (the Gourmet To Go area) will be open from 10:30 a.m.-1:30 p.m. Monday-Sunday (starting Sunday, March 22) for students to come in and grab up to three to-go meals. Options will include food items that can be heated up and pre-packaged items Dining Serivices normally offers.

Only a certain number of customers will be allowed into Holmes Dining Hall at a time with staff monitoring the entrance. This follows the  rule of no more than 10 people allowed in an area at a time.

As of right now, all retail-dining locations on campus are closed. Students can still use Dining Dollars, and faculty/staff can still use Payroll Deduction plans in all campus vending machines.

Psychological Services Clinic: Closed

Services through the Psychological Services Clinic have been suspended through the rest of the spring semester. All clients are being referred to other services; no online counseling by PSC will replace the in-person sessions.

Student Health Center: Open from 9 a.m.-3 p.m. during the following days:

  • Thursday, March 19
  • Monday, March 23
  • Wednesday, March 25
  • Friday, March 27

Tutorial Services: Open

Tutorial Services will continue to offer one-on-one tutoring sessions and supplemental instruction virtually from March 25-May 3. For more information, please email Melissa Hoffner at melissa.hoffner@unco.edu

Writing Center: Closed; working remotely

The center will continue to offer online, one-on-one consultation sessions using UNC's asynchronous eTutoring option on the center's online scheduling system from March 23-April 5. Make an online appointment through the center's website.
