D-6 Program

District 6 offers a wider variety of opportunities for UNC students to get experience in the elementary classroom. Bear Hug has partnered with District 6 to allow UNC students to get paired up with a class to help that teacher with anything they need. It is a low stress volunteer opportunity that allows students to see into a classroom and learn without actually having to teach students yet. It is a great opportunity for Freshman or Sophomores in the Elementary Education program because it allows students to really decide if teaching is the career for them.
