Professional/Academic Experience

I am a Psy. D candidate at Marshall University, out of Huntington, WV. My academic training up to this point has been in rural mental health and working with traditionally underserved, Appalachian populations. I have had the opportunity to train in variety of settings, including community mental health, integrated primary care, specialty medical settings, private forensic practice, and a correctional facility. My professional interests include pre-operative surgical evaluations, health psychology, and legislative advocacy for the field of psychology and expansion of resources to our most vulnerable consumers. My doctoral research has focused on coping skills and injury recovery, specifically in recreational distance runners. I was born and raised in Appalachia and look forward to my training year in the frontier. In my spare time, I love to travel and explore new places, participate in and instruct fitness classes, and I am an avid ultra-marathon runner.
