Wilderness First Responder Course

The Wilderness First Responder (WFR) Course is a essential if you spend a significant amount of time in remote places.  

This fast-paced, engaging, 9-day course prepares you to make difficult medical decisions. Half you time is spent outside of the classroom in realistic scenarios, include a full-scale mock night rescue. The nationally recognized NOLS Wilderness Medicine Institute curriculum encompasses a wide range of topics including: 

  • Long-term patient care 
  • Wound management
  • Straightening angulated fractures 
  • Reducing dislocations 
  • Litter packaging 
  • Medication administration 
  • Adult and Child CPR 
  • Airware Management certification

This course is perfect for you if you are (or want to be) a professional operating in remote environments. You'll complete this course with the tools an confidence to manage patients in the back country for multiple days thanks to our dynamic, experienced educators.
