This year's Community Engaged Scholars Symposium recognized the 2019 Bob and Bonnie Phelps Family Cap Award recipients, as well as the Engaged Scholar Award finalists.

The award ceremony was followed by the keynote speaker Martín Carcasson, Ph.D.,  professor in the Communication Studies department of Colorado State University, and the founder and director of the CSU Center for Public Deliberation (CPD). Dr. Carcasson presented on Leadership and Ethics in Polarized Times: Adopting a Wicked Problems Mindset to Elevate Conversations and Transform Communities.

The symposium was capped by a community partner and poster session highlighting some of the exciting community-engaged projects, research scholarship, and creative works that impact our community.
