Even if you've won the lottery, you should still fill out your FAFSA.

Fill out your FAFSA.

FAFSA

Once upon a time, there was a kid who got into college. Let’s call that person [name].

[name] was excited but not 100 percent decided on where to go. The whole family had gone to Big Town State University, and [name] wasn’t sure that UNC was affordable. But [name] also thought that the family income was too high to get financial aid, so [name] skipped filling out the FAFSA.

Luckily, [name] won $6 million in the lottery, so it all worked out.

But even if you, my friend, already won the lottery, fill out your FAFSA anyway. There’s no other way to tap into the federal and state funds available to help you pay for your UNC education. Then you can spend your lottery winnings on starting your own company after college or buying a Mr. Cluck’s Chicken Shack.

Don’t be like [name]. Even if you have the same name.

FAFSA time!
