Walter Rosenberry
Walter Rosenberry was born in St. Paul, Minnesota in 1931,
attended the Taft School in Watertown, Connecticut and received an A.B.
degree from Harvard University, magna cum laude, in 1953. Rosenberry taught
English and history at the Kent School from 1959-1981. In addition
to his career in teaching, Rosenberry was known for his community service
and philanthropy. He was president of the Laura Musser Foundation and the
Walter S. Rosenberry III Charitable Foundation. In
2001 the Walter S. Rosenberry III Cumbres Scholarship began to provide
scholarships for Hispanic teacher candidates accepted into the Cumbres
teacher training program.
Walter Rosenberry died at his home in Denver on October 11, 2005. Devoted husband, parent, teacher, mentor, philanthropist, he will be greatly missed by the thousands of Coloradoans who directly benefited from the time, leadership, and financial support he offered countless non-profit organizations
Susan Bonsall Rosenberry
Susan Bonsall Rosenberry was born near Cleveland, Ohio, attended secondary schools in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and received an A.B. degree from the University of Colorado in Geography and Political Science and an M. A from Rutgers University in Geography and Environmental Resource Management. Susan served as Executive Director for a number of environmental organizations including Earth Day USA, the Stewardship Community and the Colorado Environmental Coalition.
In addition, Susan has facilitated women's programs, organizational meetings and has taught horticultural subjects. She is currently serves on various nonprofit boards and is the trustee for the Walter S. Rosenberry III Charitable Trust.
