American Sign Language Competitions

 

  • Timber Retell - Level I

    Each school is allowed up to three competitors.  The students will have 3 minutes to retell the story of Timber with a twist to the ending of the story.  Going over the time limit will negatively impact the student's score.  Students will be judged on fluency, preparedness, thoroughness, sign production, vocabulary, and creativity.  No notes will be allowed.  The story can be found here.

     

  • Number Story - Level II

    Each school is allowed up to three competitors.  The students will have 5 minutes to sign an original number story.  Going over the time limit will negatively impact the student's score. Students will be judged on fluency, preparedness, coherent storyline, sign production, and creativity.  No notes will be allowed.   

     

  • Storytelling - Native

    Each school is allowed up to three competitors.  The students will have 5 minutes to sign an original story. Going over the time limit will negatively impact the student's score.  Students will be judged on authenticity, fluency, quality of memorization, delivery, and creativity.  No notes will be allowed. 

     

  • Art Competition: Paintings, Drawings, Poster Art & Sculptures - All Levels

    Each school is allowed up to three competitors.  Entries will be judged on quality of craftsmanship, creativity, cultural relevance, and originality.  All entries must be pre-registered for this event.
