Page Structure

You have multiple options for customizing your pages in the CMS. But keep in mind that there are some elements that won't change, no matter which page you are on. This was decided so the user will have a consistent experience through UNC's website.

Non-changing Header

Header

Every page on UNC's website will have a consistent top header, site-wide, non-negotiable. When you first visit the page, the header will look as shown here, but as you scroll down the page, it snaps to a condensed version sandwiched with your site navigation and present the entire time users scroll down your page.

Customizable Footer Pieces

Footer

Every page on UNC's website will also have a consistent footer. The areas highlighted below are the areas you can customize based on your individual site.

Page Structure WITH Sidebar

This shows you the structure and editable regions you can turn on in your page properties. As you can see, when you turn on the sidebar, content rows 1-3 are tied to the sidebar and the width is reduced. If you want to have content span across the whole page, you need to start in content row four. Also, as an added feature, you assign a background color to content row five. This feature, when used, helps break up the content visually for the user.

Sidebar Page Structure

Page Structure NO Sidebar

This shows you the structure and editable regions you can turn on in your page properties. As you can see, when you turn off the sidebar, content rows 1-3 are now full-width.  Also, as an added feature, you assign a background color to content row five. This feature, when used, helps break up the content visually for the user.
