KellyRose Olson, president, Student Representative Council

Thank you all for attending this vigil tonight, my name is KellyRose Olson and I am your Student Body President with the Student Representative Council. Although this tragic event happened many miles from where we are today, I am happy to see that you have all realized that we are all affected by what has transpired at Virginia Tech. As college students on the UNC campus we can easily relate to college students elsewhere in the country, and that is why we are here tonight. Your combined support is needed to those who have been directly affected by this tragedy, and your combined knowledge is needed to ensure that this does not happen again. Again, thank you for your presence here tonight and keep all those who have been affected (friends, family, and victims) in your thoughts not only throughout this vigil tonight but throughout the weeks, months and years to come.
