Ombudsman Volunteer Program
The Weld County Area Agency on Aging is looking for volunteers interested in protecting the rights of elderly persons in long-term care facilities via investigating complaints, educating interested parties in the Ombudsman program and elderly rights, and mediating and assisting in the resolution of concerns and complaints between elderly persons and caregivers. Volunteers are required by the state to be have a background check and be certified, but twenty hours of classroom and hands-on training are provided the OV Program to reach this certification.
