Volunteers are needed to assist older individuals in the Greeley community to provide in home care that will supplement care provided by occupational and physical therapists. Volunteers will work closely with therapists to receive guidance and direction in maintaining exercise programs, and supporting strategies in place to help patients reach personal goals. This could include helping with light chores and organization around patients' homes, providing companionship and conversation, and engaging patients in enjoyable activities. Immediate need for easy-going, reliable, honest, good-humored, courteous volunteer for two-hours a week to spend time with a kind and fun-loving 76 year-old-woman living alone with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). Volunteer will provide companionship and simple help around the house like cleaning, filing papers, helping on the computer and reorganizing. Human service related majors like speech therapy, human development, social services or students looking to make a difference in someone's life preferred.
