My name is Rachel, and I am a sophomore here at UNC! I am a Communication major seeking a Business and Leadership Studies double minor. My home town is Northglenn, Colorado and I lived there for the majority of my life. It's about an hour away from Greeley, which is one of the reasons why I loved UNC so much. I found the campus to be far enough to be more independent from my parents, but just close enough to visit for a home-cooked meal when I feel homesick! I chose UNC because I loved how the campus was the perfect fit for me and felt like home. You really feel the sense of community here and the people are very welcoming. I've been exposed to so many new people and experiences here that have changed my life. I had the opportunity to become involved in UNC's Sorority and Fraternity Life and connect with others through that outlet. Another activity that I've found great enjoyment in is UNC's intramural sports. As someone who grew up playing three sports, I couldn't bear to give them up just yet; intramural sports gave me a way to still compete in the sports I love. I look forward to my next year at UNC and all of the adventures that await me!
1. I LOVE camping, hiking, and hanging outside. I live for the days when it's sunny
on campus and we get to do homework outside.
2. I won class clown and most school spirit my senior year of high school. Both are very fitting awards!
3. My mom is a proud alumnae of UNC and cried tears of joy when I told her I was following in her footsteps!
Any of the grass areas where I can lay out a blanket and get some stuff done while also being outside.
Don't be afraid to put yourself out there and do new things! In my first year, I tried so many new activities and ended up falling in love with so many things I could never have thought of.
