Hello, hello! My name is Claire Holsinger and I am from Scottsbluff, Nebraska. I'm a sophomore here at the lovely University of Northern Colorado, and I'm majoring in elementary education with an endorsement in Cultural and Linguistic Diversity. I love to travel and try new foods. My mantra for life is to try everything -- regardless of whether I end up enjoying it -- just for the experience. I also LOVE music.
I have a rather peculiar story of "How I Chose UNC." In the final month of my senior year in high school, I realized that I did not want to attend the school I had initially committed to. I had heard a little bit about UNC and decided to apply on a whim. Soon after, I discovered that UNC had an amazing teacher education program; before I knew it, I was hooked to the school. Life really does work in mysterious ways, and I am so glad I chose UNC; I cannot imagine myself anywhere else.
1. I have performed in Carnegie Hall! My sophomore year of high school, my school
choir traveled to New York and performed a Blue Grass Medley in Carnegie Hall.
2. I am obsessed with my puppy, Ziggy. He is named after the one and only David Bowie's alter ego, Ziggy Stardust.
3. I love to sing all time- I also make little jingles for just about everything I do.
Honestly, any grassy or shaded area under the beautiful trees on West Campus. I love walking my puppy, Ziggy, around campus and it helps that campus is so pet friendly!
It is okay to be scared; everyone was scared or nervous when they were in your shoes. It is even okay to be scared for a while! But once you get over the "being scared" part, just open yourself up to new experiences. You will be amazed what can happen when you keep an open mind.
