Colorado Springs, Colorado
Hello! My name is Alina, and I am a sophomore at UNC majoring is Psychology with a minor in Philosophy. I was born in Vladivostok, Russia and was adopted when I was two. I grew up in Southern California next to Disneyland and then moved to Colorado Springs at the beginning of high school. I chose UNC because I was instantly impressed with the leadership and opportunities the school provided for their students. As a first generation student, UNC helped me with the transition from high school to college and provided many opportunities for me. Upon my first semester at UNC, I got involved in leadership organizations and studies. I participated in Lead-On, took an intro to Leadership Studies course, and became a founder of ASLC (Ambassadors of Student Leadership Club). In the future, I hope to conduct research in the Humanities Department at UNC. Then, I'd like to continue onto graduate school and become the first women in my family to receive a Ph.D.
