Yellow Ribbon Program
The Yellow Ribbon Program was designed to help those service members and their dependents who want to attend a university or college out-of-state. The program supplements the Post 9/11 GI Bill and covers UNC's out-of-state tuition costs. You may be eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program if you qualify for 100% of the Post-9/11 GI Bill.
If you do not qualify for the Yellow Ribbon program, service members and veterans can still quality for in-state tuition. Please fill out the waiver form.
Unfortunately, Active Duty service members and spouses of active duty service members are not eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program. However, you may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Top Up program. Check with your base Education Office for more details.
The University of Northern Colorado does not cap the monetary allotment or the amount of eligible veterans who able to receive benefits under the Yellow Ribbon program.
All UNC admission based scholarships, including but limited to the UNC Provost, Presidential, & Trustee awards, are considered by UNC to be the university's match for the Yellow Ribbon program. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid about other scholarship applicability.
