Yellow Ribbon Program
How it Works.
The Yellow Ribbon Program was designed to help those service members and their dependents who want to attend a university or college out-of-state. The program suppliments the Post 9/11 GI Bill and covers UNC's out-of-state tuition costs. You may be eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program if you qualify for 100% of the Post-9/11 GI Bill. The University of Northern Colorado does not cap the monetary allotment or the amount of eligible veterans able to receive benefits under the Yellow Ribbon program.
If you do not qualify for the Yellow Ribbon program, the state of Colorado and UNC have agreed to help veterans out by offering in state tuition to service members and veterans. All you have to do is fill out the waiver form. Unfortunately, Active duty service members and spouses of active duty service members are not eligible to participate in the Yellow Ribbon program. However, you may be eligible for the Tuition Assistance Top Up program. Check with your base Education Office for more details.
