EARTH
Springfest is a “green” event and with the goal of being environmentally friendly. Earth day is on April 22nd and Springfest goes hand-in-hand with other activities that will be provided throughout the week. Some of the things that we are doing include:
- Recycling—Springfest will be utilizing “green products” like plates and cutlery. Plates and utensils used by the cultural centers will also be recycled throughout the day.
- Solar powered staging— The solar powered stages provided by Sustainable Waves are both technically unique and environmentally friendly and are powered through biodiesel generators as a back-up energy source. No electricity or wiring is necessary. We will be using the Armadillo Stage, which is the same stage they have used for the Vans Warped Tour.
- Sustainable Waves— Specializes in sustainable solutions for the entertainment industry. They provide solar powered stages & sound systems and a variety of conscious products and services. From pollution free concerts to innovative products, Sustainable Waves is a logical approach to creating value. They strive to inspire the currents of the global economy. Also, for the third year in a row, Sustainable Waves has been a staging partner with New Belgium Brewery’s Tour de Fat.

- American Forests Organization—Founded in 1875, they are the nation’s oldest nonprofit citizens conservation organization. They advocate the benefits of both rural and urban trees, good science, and sound policy. American Forests plants millions of trees each year to restore damaged ecosystems throughout the world.
