When does the position start?
August 11, 2008 through May 1, 2009 (with the exception of Traditional Events). In addition Coordinating Board Members are expected to attend the Student Activities Retreat scheduled for the week of August 14, 2008.
What are the job hours like?
A minimum of 14 hours per week are required for the UPC positions. At least half (7) of these hours will be spent directly in the office- ONE hour will account for weekly board member meetings. The other half will be spent at UPC related events. More time may be needed to effectively fulfill responsibilities on certain occasions like Homecoming Week and Winter Welcome Week.
How much do you get paid?
All UPC positions are salary paid positions and are based on the amount of undergraduate, in-state tuition and fees of that given school year.
Are there any other activities outside of office hours and events?
Mandatory Coordinating Board meetings are held weekly as decided by the Council. These meetings will count as ONE office hour. Weekly one-on-one meetings with the advisor, graduate assistant, and president are also required.
What are the enrollment requirements needed?
Coordinating Board members must currently enrolled in and complete at least 12 undergraduate or 9 graduate credit hours. They must also be in good academic standing on a per term basis with UNC and maintain a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 and a semester grade point average of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale.
