Position Descriptions

President

The UPC President acts a guide, resource, and motivator for the Coordinating Board.  This individual maintains a minimum of 20 hours per week between UPC office hours and events.  The President’s primary responsibilities include overseeing the UPC budget, ensuring the Council wisely spends student fee dollars, communicates effectively with the UNC Administration, and maintains the stability within the organization. The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Marketing and Public Relations Coordinator

The Public Relations Coordinator shall focus on outreach, recruitment, and marketing events through creative advertising. This position requires a minimum of 14 hours per week between UPC office hours and events.  The primary responsibilities for this position include advertising events, attending meetings to promote events, and develop a plan for outreach in order to obtain volunteers for UPC and create an incentive reward program for volunteers.  The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Arts and Entertainment Coordinator

The Arts and Entertainment Coordinator is responsible for coordinating concerts that serve the students at UNC. This individual maintains a minimum of 14 hours per week between UPC office hours and events.  In addition to organizing concerts, they also program events oriented towards the performing and visual arts. The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Diverse Programs Coordinator

The Diverse Program Coordinator presents programs of education and/or entertaining value with the primary goal being to inform and raise awareness of diverse issues.  Such events include lectures, films, and other educational events on campus and assist various diverse organizations and cultural centers in programming and other activities.  This position requires a minimum of 14 hours per week between UPC office hours and events.  Additionally, this position seeks to establish a solid working relationship with the Cultural Centers, Diversity Council, and other organizations aimed at diverse programming on the UNC campus.  The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Campus Relations Coordinator

The Operations Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating, organizing, managing receivables from co-sponsorships, keeping agenda items and minutes, and coordinating the planning of the Homecoming Parade in conjunction with Traditional Events. This position maintains a minimum of 14 hours per week between UPC office hours and events. The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Traditional Events Coordinator

The Traditional Events Coordinator shall coordinate traditional University events such as Homecoming, Fall and Winter Welcome Weeks, Family and Friends Weekend, and Spring Fest.  This position requires a minimum of 14 hours per week between UPC office hours and events. The term of this position begins in the summer following the Spring semester of the previous academic year to the date of the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.

 

Variety Entertainment Coordinator

The Variety Entertainment Coordinator programs events that represent the wide variety of student interests.  The primary responsibility of this coordinator is to plan and execute UPC movies and weekend programming. This position requires a minimum of 14 hours per week between office hours and events.  The term of this position will begin 2 weeks prior to the Fall semester and end after the last coordinating board meeting of the Spring semester.
