- Each residence hall will be having another event to kick off the semester. Be sure to look in the residence hall for information about each community’s event and location.
Sunday, January 13th
7:00 PM: Hypnotist CJ Johnson, Ballrooms – University Center
- Come to the University Center Ballrooms to watch as CJ guides those on stage through a hypnotic induction. The hilarity begins as the volunteers begin to take CJ’s suggestions and believe they are anything from the crocodile hunter to a group from the era of disco. Admission is FREE. Sponsored by the University Program Council.
Monday, January 14th
7:00 PM: Without Prejudice, Panorama Room – University Center
- Without Prejudice is based on the Game Show Networks popular show and is an interactive activity where audience members get to choose which character will be receiving a hypothetical $25,000. Without Prejudice has outrageous characters, will make you think, and will challenge you to share your thoughts on hot topics around diversity, all in the hope that the audience can make a decision with prejudice. Are you up for the challenge? Sponsored by Turner Hall and the Residence Hall Association.

4:00 PM – 7:00 PM: MLK Banner Making, Lower Level – University Center
- Come show your creative side and make a banner in support of the Martin Luther King Jr. Day march on the 21st. Sponsored by the University Program Council.
7:00 PM – 10:00 PM: Show us what you’ve got! – McCowen Hall North RARC
- We are looking for the best and biggest UNC talent to join us on Tuesday night for an Open-Mic Night Extravaganza. UNC students, faculty, and staff are all invited to participate or to just hang out and watch! Bring your friends, your band, your best singing voice, or your extremely rare talent to share with your campus community. Opening talent will perform, with our community entertainment to follow. If you would like to sign up early or have questions about the event, please call 351-2576. Signups will also be taken at the door. Light refreshments will be provided. This is a drop in event, so feel free to stop by anytime! Sponsored by Housing and Residence Life.

- The “BIZARRE” gets it’s name from the wide variety of free food, give-aways and information booths that will be located on the Lower Level of the University Center.
9:30 PM: UPC Movie Night – “Gone Baby Gone”, Fireside Lounge - University Center
- When a little girl is lost on the tough streets of Dorchester in Boston two detectives must risk their sanity and even their lives to take on the case. Bring you pillow – we’ll provide the sofas! Admission is free. Come early for a good seat and enjoy free popcorn and door prizes.

10:00 AM: Martin Luther King, JR. March & Commemoration Event
- The event will begin with a march from the Greeley Convention & Visitors Bureau, 902 7th Avenue, to the Greeley Recreation Center at 651 10th Avenue. There, a reception and program of speakers will continue the celebration of Rev. King’s life and legacy. Please join us to hear the inspiring words of keynote speaker Dr. Alfred Davies, who attended the 1963 March on Washington, and to witness thoughtful and moving presentations by students of all ages. We look forward to seeing you at this memorable event, where it is not just a day off, but a day ON! For additional information, please call 351-1952.

- Description: Try out Echo Mountain for a day! Echo is Colorado’s newest and closest ski and snowboard area—located only 35 miles from downtown Denver. We will also be providing a free bus ride to Echo. Sign-up in the Student Activities office, located in the University Center, by Wednesday, February 6th. Immediate payment is expected at sign-up. - Description: Invisible Children: The Rough Cut is a documentary about the plight of child soldiers and night commuters in northern Uganda. Jason Russell, Bobby Bailey and Laren Poole, traveled to Sudan “to find a story.” Their adventure took them into the depths of northern Uganda where they discovered thousands of people affected by the brutality and attacks of a rebel group known as the Lord’s Resistance Army (LRA). The documentary chronicles their experience as young Americans learning firsthand about a conflict largely unknown to the international community, while also informing audiences about the great humanitarian crisis of child soldiers. springfest '08: a day of unity
