Chris Hansen
Hey there kids, my name is Chris Hansen, and I am your host for Radical Radio- coming to you every Thrusday from 7-8PM. Allow me to tell you a little bit about myself and the great show.
I've had interest in music ever since I can remember. I got interested in radio when I was about 10 years old. By the time I was 16, I had an internship at KFMU, KRMR, Jack FM, and Z-Rock: Commercial radio stations in Steamboat Springs, Colorado. I started out by learning how to use radio mixing boards, and what all of those flashing lights mean. They actually let me DJ weekends and weekdays too. By 17, I was production director for these stations. After producing commericals full time for a while on radio budget, I decided that a college degree would be nice. So here I am: enjoying the freedom of college radio, with a position of just moderate importance, but great pay and plenty of women.
Radical Radio is a show that makes other shows feel a little chubby around the edges. I play music that you normally don't hear on the radio. Groups like Frank Zappa and the Mothers, Tom Waits, the Greyboy Allstars, and Wolfmother. I also like to play lesser-known songs from bands that get lots of air play, like the Beatles, Allman Brothers, Blues Traveler, the Beastie Boys, Grateful Dead, and perhaps even Miles Davis.
it's RADIO THAT DOESN'T SUCK IN COMPARISON TO LOTS OF OTHER RADIO.
