Nottingham Field

History

UNC's current athletic field was completed in 1996. It is located on the west campus and is a replacement for the outdated Jackson Field. This new stadium has seen the UNC Bear's football team through 2 national championships already. The facility was created through the generous contributions of many community leaders and alumni.

 

Named for

The facility is named for Victor Nottingham, a long time friend of UNC athletics. Mr. Nottingham was also instrumental in the fund raising efforts to make the project a reality.

 

Current Use

Nottingham Field is Home to the University's football team, the track team, and graduation. Various community events are held here as well.
