Jackson Field

History

Jackson field took the place of the first athletic field that once existed on the southwest corner of the central campus (Cranford field). Jackson field was constructed in 1927. Its original capacity was 5,200, but after renovation in 1948, the capacity was reduced to 4,000.

 

Named for

College Trustee Charles N. Jackson played a major role in the acquisition of the land. It is for this reason that the field bears his name.

 

Current Use

Baseball, Soccer, Rugby and miscellaneous recreational events.
