Garden Theater

History

This outdoor theater was part of president George Frasier's zealous building program. The structure was completed in 1940 and was used for outdoor concerts and commencement exercises. The Garden Theater remains a distinctive campus landmark.

 

Current Use

Host to one of UNC's oldest outdoor traditions with the "concert under the stars" performances during the summer. The facility is also used for various other events throughout the year.
