Gunter Hall

History

The building was dedicated on June of 1928. The Gunter Hall of Health in 1928 had a gymnasium of 75 by 125 feet, a separate gymnasium for females, a pool, and a full service recreation facility including examining physicians rooms. Gunter Hall was renovated in 1996. The newly remodeled facility retains the old Gunter features, including the center court of the gym floor and original building murals.

Named for

Gunter Hall is named after Governor Julius C. Gunter, who helped make the building possible by securing the passage of a 1917 building mill levy program.
