Ben Nighthorse Campbell Center for Health and Human Sciences

History

The Ben Nighthorse Campbell Center for Health and Human Science was completed in 2003.

 

Named for

Senator Ben Nighthorse Campbell, who was instrumental in helping secure federal monies to fund this project.

 

Current Use

Houses the Rocky Mountain Cancer Rehabilitation Institute, RMCRI, which is a program of the College of Health and Human Sciences. This program, which started in 1997, studies the effect of exercise on postoperative cancer patients. The new facility includes offices, exam rooms, physical therapy, large prescriptive exercise area and a biochemical laboratory classroom, as well as other support spaces. RMCRI provides students in the Kinesiology and Exercise Physiology programs hands on training and research as they work directly with patients to establish and follow through with an exercise program.
