Jim Turk
Clinical Coordinator
Jim Turk joined the
Northern Colorado Sports Medicine staff in September
2005. In 2005 he served as the main athletic trainer
for the baseball program. In 2006 he took over the
duties of being the sports medicine staff's Clinical
Coordinator as well as being the athletic trainer
for volleyball. In 2009 he will provide
athletic training services for the UNC football team
Turk came to Northern
Colorado after spending five years at the University
of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign. There he worked
with the baseball and women's soccer programs as
well as serving as an instructor in the Department
of Kinesiology. Turk received his Master of Science
degree in therapeutic kinesiology from Illinois in
May 2002. As a graduate assistant, Turk also worked
with the Illini's football team.
Turk received his
Bachelor of Science degree in exercise physiology
from The Ohio State University in June 2000. At Ohio
State he was an athletic training student.
In summer of 1999 he
served as an athletic training intern with the
Philadelphia Eagles.
Turk is a member of the
National Athletic Trainers' Association, the Rocky
Mountain Athletic Trainers' Association, and the
Colorado Athletic Trainers' Association. Turk, a native of
Elyria, Ohio, and his wife, Lisa, live in Greeley.
They are the proud parents of Jonathan (2).
