ATHLETIC TRAINING EDUCATION PROGRAM APPLICATION

APPLICATION DEADLINE FOR 2009 IS NOVEMBER, 6th

Application Instructions – Clinical Program Requirements:

APPLICANTS WILL BE EVALUATED FOR ADMITTANCE BASED ON THE FOLLOWING:

1. Available Openings
2. Cumulative Grade Point Average (2.8 minimum at UNC at the time of application)

3. Grades* and/or performance in these specific courses:

• SES 181

• CHEM 281 or CHEM 111

• SES 220

• SES 380

• SES 233 or proof of current CPR for the Professional Rescuer certification

• BIO 110

• BIO 245

*All courses must be completed with a grade of “C” or better to be considered for acceptance (C- is not acceptable)

     4. Performance during athletic training room observation & pre-requisite courses

    5. Completion of  three, 90 minute observations in the athletic training room.

    6. Demonstration of  a desire to enter the curriculum program and pursue the field of athletic training as a career.

     7. Related Experience (not mandatory)

APPLICATION / SELECTION PROCESS:

1. Submit a completed application (see link below) along with three letters of recommendation, two of which must be authored by faculty of UNC.  Be sure to type into the form (see link below).

2. Include a copy of the Technical Standards signed by both the applicant and a physician that will attest to your ability to meet these standards.

3. You will be contacted to set up an interview (panel interview consists of the full – time athletic training faculty, one non-athletic training SES faculty member, current athletic training students and /or graduate assistants already in the athletic training clinical program).
