Campus Partnerships

Tutorial Services (TS) staff work closely with colleagues across campus to increase student convenience and access to tutorial services and to support our shared mission to promote the academic success of our students. In the three key partnerships highlighted below, TS’s intent is to offer targeted service in satellite locations and to encourage students in those areas to access additional academic support in our primary Michener Library location. These collaborative partnerships involve joint program responsibility and resource sharing, which allow us to provide the best possible service to UNC students.

Housing & Residential Education

TS’s partnership with Housing & Residential Education began with a pilot program in Fall 2011 to provide satellite tutorial service in Harrison Hall through the Natural Health Science Learning Community. Due to the pilot’s success, we expanded our collaboration to offer tutorial service through four learning communities, beginning in Fall 2012: biology, business, elementary education, and pre-nursing. For more information about Residential Education, visit the Housing website.

Student-Athlete Academic Success Center (SAASC)

TS’s collaboration with the SAASC is designed to meet the specific needs of UNC’s student-athletes. Along with daytime tutoring available in our primary Michener Library location, TS offers additional academic support to student-athletes in the SAASC during designated hours as part of the Center’s night study hall.
