RICHARD S. GAST
Richard Gast is a director, officer and shareholder of Myatt Brandes & Gast, a Fort Collins law firm, where his practice emphasizes real estate, business, banking and estate planning law. He is a fourth-generation Colorado lawyer.
Gast earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and in 1981 received a law degree from the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as assistant editor of the University of Colorado Law Review.
He served as a delegate from Colorado to the American Bar Association’s House of Delegates from 2005 to 2011. He has also served in numerous roles with the Colorado Bar Association over the years (including chairing the Real Estate Section Council) and is currently a member of its Board of Governors. From 2005 to 2013 he served as a board trustee for the Legal Aid Foundation of Colorado, including serving as chair of that board. Gast has also served as president of the Larimer County Bar Association and received that Association's Professionalism Award in 2011.
His community involvement has included serving on the board of directors of the Legacy Land Trust and the Fort Collins Area United Way. He also has been a member of the Larimer County Land Use Plan Citizens Advisory committee and a hearing officer for the Poudre School District.
Gast and his wife Bev have two sons and live in Timnath.
