RICHARD
S. GAST
Richard Gast is a director, officer and shareholder of Myatt Brandes & Gast,
a Fort Collins law firm, where his practice emphasizes real estate,
business, banking and estate planning law. He is a fourth-generation
Colorado attorney.
Gast earned a bachelor’s degree from Stanford University and in 1981 received
a law degree from the University of Colorado Law School, where he served as assistant
editor of the University of Colorado Law Review.
He has served as a delegate from Colorado to the American Bar Association’s
House of Delegates since 2005. He has also served in numerous roles with
the Colorado Bar Association over the years and is currently a member of its
board of governors. Since 2005, he has been a board trustee for the Legal
Aid Foundation of Colorado, and presently serves as vice-chair of that board. Gast
is a member of the executive committee of the Larimer County Bar Association
and currently serves as the association’s president.
His community involvement has included serving on the board of directors of the
Legacy Land Trust and the Fort Collins Area United Way. He also has been
a member of the Larimer County Land Use Plan Citizens Advisory committee and
a hearing officer for the Poudre School District.
Gast and his wife Bev have two children and live in Timnath.
