Also called white spruce, mountain spruce or silver spruce, this species of spruce is native to western North America, and mostly a high altitude mountain tree, growing at altitudes of 2,952 to 11,975 feet. This tree is can reach heights of 125 feet and is often found growing with blue spruces and ponderosa pines.
