Free Half Day Workshop for Homeschool Parents

Saturday, October 25th 9 am – 1 pm
UNC Centerra Center

Did you know that you can access millions of free resources from the Library of Congress - right through your own computer at

This fall, the Teaching with Primary Sources program at UNC is offering a free workshop especially designed for homeschoolers. We are funded by the Library of Congress with a mission is to help teachers implement this treasure trove of resources into the classroom. Join us for a great Saturday morning of hands-on activities and learning:

Come learn how to search this website and access resources created for teachers to quickly add historical artifacts to your homeschool.

  • Take part in hands-on activities that you could recreate for your own kids or homeschool co-ops.
  • Learn how to connect historical fiction to the real history behind the stories with engaging primary sources. Make historical characters come to life by accessing images and documents about them.
  • Find out how primary sources will have your kids thinking like a historical detective as you gain tools to help them analyze these documents.

The workshop will be at the UNC Centerra Center on October 25th from 9 am – 1 pm.  The UNC Centerra Center is very close to the Medical Center of the Rockies over in Loveland. Light snacks will be provided. Please note: This workshop is for homeschooling parents, not students.
