ELEMENTARY EDUCATION, Bridge Postbaccalaureate Program
(Added Endorsement for Early Childhood licensed teachers)
The program is designed for individuals with Colorado Early Childhood Licensure wishing to add K-6 credentials as the second endorsement.
Admission criteria
- Valid Initial or Professional Colorado licensure with Birth-8, Early Childhood endorsement. Out of state applicants must obtain Colorado Early Childhood licensure to be considered.
- 3.0 GPA on the most recent 60 credit hours of coursework from an accredited institution.

Courses (10 credits)
All courses are offered in the Summer.
- ET 347 Educational Technology Applications for Elementary Teaching (1)
- EDEL 500 Literacy and Social Studies in Intermediate grades (3)
- EDEL 501 Math in Intermediate grades (1)
- EDEL 502 Science in Intermediate grades (1)
- EDEL 503 Art, Music, and Drama in Intermediate grades (1)
- EDEL 504 Physical Education and Health in Intermediate grades (1)
- EDLD 505 Linguistically Diverse Students in Intermediate Grades (2)
Student teaching (6 -7 credits)
- EDEL 543 Intermediate Elementary Practicum (140-hours in the classroom in observation/participation role). Can be waived with teaching experience at the intermediate level or by taking EDEL 545.
- EDEL 545 Elementary Student Teaching Intermediate Grades (6). 10 weeks student teaching experience in intermediate grades (4-6). Candidates who can document successful completion of a formal student teaching experience in an elementary classroom setting are exempt from this requirement.
