What is your job?

It is my responsibility to create hiring committees. These hiring committees hire Coordinators and Assistant Coordinators for Student-Service positions in the Student Activities Office. The student service positions are Center for Peer Education (CPE), National Student Exchange (NSE), and Off-Campus Housing (OCH).  In addition, I’m in charge of creating other committees who hire the Administrative Assistant (AA), Affirmative Action/Equal Opportunity Director (AA/EO) and Election Commissioners.  I also create the Ethics, Removal, and Review Committee.  Furthermore, I coordinate a program called Bear Blitz.  This is a student-led recruitment team intended to increase the Universities recruitment numbers.   Essentially, it is my job to promote, recruit, market and coordinate a range of different committees and Student-Service positions.

Why do you do it?

It is my job to make sure each person hired, chosen, or appointed for a specific position is carrying out their job responsibilities.  Therefore, the purpose for my position is to ensure the student body an increased awareness and knowledge of campus recourses, health issues, available living options and a fair election process.  Ultimately, it is my goal to increase student involvement and engagement on campus.

If you could have dinner with any famous person, who would it be and why?

Without a doubt in mind, it would be Arnold Schwarzenegger; Get to the Choppa!

What is the most important thing freshmen should know?

Freshman; the University of Northern Colorado provides an abundance of resources and opportunities for you.  There are plenty of ways to get involved and enhance your college experience.  But, in the end the choice is going to rest on your shoulders.  Get involved and boost your college experience or stay disconnected and have an average college experience, it is entirely up to you.
