Spring Break Service Trip (SBST)
Attending the Spring Break Service Trip does cost money. Initially there is a $100.00 non-refundable deposit from each participant. This deposit will help offset the major expenses of the service trip, but additional money will need to be raised. It will cost approximately $2,200.00 to send one group on a service trip. If enough money is not raised to cover the expense of the trip, students will be expected to pay the difference.
Money has been raised through a program called Bear Essentials, but this is only a small amount of the total amount needed. In the past students have held silent auctions, spaghetti dinners, and wrote letters to family, friends of family and relatives requesting a donation. There are many fundraising opportunities available to students."It is required that all participants assist with at least half of the fundraising events for your chosen site.
Fundraising will be addressed in the meetings and during individual site meetings leading up to the service trip.
A tentative timeline for deadlines for deposits and applications can be found on the times and deadlines page or on the application page.
