"The Student Activities Office coordinates programs, activities and events with the specific intent to provide students with opportunities and an environment where learning and development can occur."
WHY GET INVOLVED?
Getting involved is one of the best ways to help you adjust to life at UNC and to realize that you are a valuable part of the UNC community. You will have the opportunity to develop relationships with other students as well as with UNC faculty and administrators, resulting in connections that will be important to your college success.
Come visit the UNC Student Activities Office!
We will help you get involved!
|Research indicates that students who are involved at their college or university:||
receive better grades
are more satisfied with their overall college experience
are more successful in their academic program
are more likely to stay in school
are more marketable when job searching and/or applying to graduate school
WHO WE ARE
The Student Activities Office consists of eight different areas that allow students to get involved, gain leadership skills, have a voice on campus, and have fun!
Nearly 600 students at UNC are a part of the Greek Life System. With 21 different fraternities and sororities, Greek Life offers students a chance to meet new people, enhance their academics, find leadership and networking opportunities, serve the community and make life-long friends.
UNIVERSITY PROGRAM COUNCIL (UPC)
The UPC is a student fee funded organization that consists of student coordinators and volunteers. These students plan and coordinate events such as concerts, lectures, special events, comedians, Homecoming, Bear Welcome, Family and Friends Weekend and much more!
The Student Senate is the Student Government at UNC and is the VOICE of the Student Body. Student Senate is made up of nine elected student members, two hired student members, and representatives from each of the different colleges at UNC. Student Senate is a great way to get involved and make a difference at UNC.
Gay, Lesbian, Bi-Sexual, Transgender & Allies Resource Office (GLBTA)
The GLBTA Resource Office serves as the catalyst to create a campus environment free from prejudice, bigotry, harassment and violence. They work to create a positive, healthy student life through educational, cultural and social programs.

Club and Organizations
Campus clubs and organizations provide a way for students to get involved with co-curricular activities, develop interests and leadership skills. Check out the current list of Clubs and Organizations HERE. Don't see one on the list? Start your own with just three people, yourself included!
