Listing Search FAQ
How often are the listings updated?
Listings are updated at least every 48 hours.
If a rental is listed on the website, is the place for sure available or is it possible that it has already been rented?
OCH allows a listing to be active for 45 days after the initial posting. We anticipate the landlord or property manager will inform us as soon as the property has been rented, but that is not always the case. If you come across a property that is already rented, please let us know.
Are the properties listed recommended rentals by OCH?
No, the OCH office does not verify or endorse properties. We do not assume liability for the problems you may encounter in your rental experience. However, if you have a problem or a concern, contact us.
As an undergraduate student interested in living off-campus next year, when is the best time for me to start looking for housing?
If you are interested in sharing a large off-campus house with other students, you will probably have to start thinking about housing as early as October the year prior to your move. While houses may not be advertised as “For Rent” this early, you can look at what apartment and management companies have to offer. You may want to be aware that a lot of places never get to be advertised, they are just handed down, from one student group to another. Also, some companies have a deal that if you are one of the first predetermined number of renters to sign a lease, you will receive a lower rent rate for the first month.
