Q: How do I know what programs are happening on campus?

A: There is a calendar of events posted on the web and you can go to the UPC website.

Q: When is Family Weekend?  Homecoming?

A: Family Weekend is September 19-21, 2008

    Homecoming is October 5-11, 2008

Q: Student Representative Council - what do you do?

A: We are the student governing body that allocates 6 million dollars of student fees, charters campus clubs and organizations, provides money for conference funding, and supports student initiatives at the state capitol.

Q: How do I get involved with SRC?

A: There are 9 elected positions, numerous hired positions, and many opportunities for volunteers. Contact Rico Wint, SRC President, at (970) 351-1347 for more information.

Q: How often does SRC meet?

A: During the school year, they meet every Wednesday at 5:30pm in the UC Council Room.

Q: Which clubs/organizations can I get involved in?

A: There are over 120 chartered clubs and organizations on campus. Contact the VP for Student Clubs & Organizations, Robert Vincent, at (970) 351-2582 or Katie Vahey, SRC Graduate Assistant at (970) 351-2927.

Q: Is there a student governing office for graduate students?

A: The Graduate Student Association is located in the SRC office in Student Activities.  Contact the President for GSA, James Holland, at (970) 351-1089 for more information.

Q: Drug, Alcohol & Tobacco Education - what are the Focus Alcohol & Drug seminars?

A: Classes to fulfill requirements of drinking/drug offenses. They cost $60 and you can register by calling Sue Tronco at (970) 351-2872. Classes are held on selected Saturdays from 9:00-3:30 in Candelaria Hall.

Q: Community Connections - what does Community Connections do?

A: Community Connections runs many of the community service programs on campus, including Best Buddies, Spring Break Service Trips, CANstruction, and various other service activities throughout the year.

Q: Can you place court-ordered community service?

A: We can get you in touch with local organizations that accept court ordered service. Contact Erin Christensen at (970) 351-1072 or Jennifer Beebe at (970) 351-1136 for more information.

Q: National Student Exchange - where can students go on exchange?

A: Students can attend any of the colleges listed as our partners in exchange. Contact Emily Kaiser or Dee Schriner at (970) 351-1367 for more information.

Q: How much does an exchange cost?

A: You pay in-state UNC tuition. Currently, out of state and WUE students are unable to go on national exchange.

Q: Greek Life - how can I get involved with Greek Life?

A: Contact the Greek Life Office at (970) 351-1360.

Q: University Program Council - what is UPC?

A: The University Program Council is responsible for bringing entertainment and educational programs to UNC.

Q: What types of events are planned for this year?

A: Welcome Week, Homecoming, concerts, bands, comedians, hypnotists, and lecturers.

Q: Can I help bring events to campus?

A: Yes! Contact Emily Peake, UPC President, at (970) 351-3204 and we'll get you involved. There are seven paid positions and numerous volunteer opportunities.
