Stryker Institute for Leadership Development
Sarah is a Colorado native, moving from Pueblo to Greeley to obtain her B.A. in Special Education and staying to pursue her M.A. in Deaf Education. Sarah has always had a passion for working with underrepresented populations and works towards equity in all she does. Being a first-generation, non-traditional, underrepresented woman herself, Sarah knows the impact that higher education has and embraces the idea that it not only transforms her life, but the life of those she interacts with as well. Throughout her years in higher education she has become strongly involved in being an advocate while empowering others to do the same. Sarah has great passion for leadership, social justice, and feminism and loves the opportunity to learn more from each day.
Sarah has served in a variety of roles over the past 12 years with the Stryker Institute, from being a Stryker scholarship recipient herself (2003-2007), to facilitating as a Stryker graduate assistant (2007-2009) and now serving as the Leadership Coordinator (2013-present). Sarah is very excited to get to utilize her passion and experience in this transformative journey.
