Research Help
The SRL@UNC is a one stop shop for all your research needs. We have experience and expertise in conducting and consulting on a variety of research projects at all stages of development. We exist to serve UNC and the surrounding community. We utilize highly trained faculty and undergraduate and graduate students to produce affordable, customized research solutions.
The Survey Research Lab was founded in 2007 with two goals: to provide high-quality assistance with research design & implementation for research projects both on- and off-campus; and to provide training for graduate and undergraduate students in research methodologies & project management.
We offer consulting. We can suggest strategies for getting through the IRB review process, assist with cost estimating for grants; recommend modes of data collection (face-to-face interviews, phone surveys, web surveys, etc.), and generally keep you from re-inventing the wheel.
We do data collection. We have a 10-station CATI (computer-assisted telephone interviewing) lab for fully customized phone interviewing. We host web surveys, and can design & scan OMR (‘bubble’) forms for paper-and pencil data collection. We can also provide trained personnel for ‘live’ projects (face-to-face interviewers & focus group leaders).
