Sigma Pi Sigma is the National Physics Honors Society which
recognizes students with
outstanding scholarship in physics. This national
honors society is recognized as a sign of
academic achievement by many graduate
schools and other institutions.
Membership Benefits:

- Lifetime subscription to the Sigma Pi Sigma magazine Radiations
Membership Requirements:
To be inducted into Sigma Pi Sigma,
one must satisfy all of the following requirements:
- Be a declared physics major.
- Have completed at least four upper-division physics courses and have two
additional
upper-division physics courses completed or in-progress.
- Have a minimum of a 3.4 overall GPA or
A 3.4 GPA in all major
classes taking towards your physics
degree and a minimum of a 3.0 GPA overall.
(NOTE: These classes need NOT be taken at UC Berkeley.
Transfer students may use the
grades received at their previous institution
including UC Extension.)
- Pay a onetime fee of $25 for a lifetime membership if you are
already a member of
the national SPS or $45 if you are not already a member so
that you may become one.
The fees fund scholarships given out by Sigma Pi
Sigma.
