The following are a list of possible internships in organizations that deal with individuals that have been assaulted. If there is a place you are interested in that is not listed, please consult Dr. Karen Jennison for approval:

A Woman’s Place
Provides services specifically geared toward victims/survivors of domestic violence, including emergency shelter, a 24-hour crisis line, individual domestic violence counseling, case management, education, support groups, legal advocacy and a children’s program.

A Kid’s Place
Assessment center for child victims of severe physical and sexual abuse to be interviewed. Also operates CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), providing volunteers to work on behalf of abused and neglected children in court.

Sexual assault victim advocate (SAVA) center
At SAVA, we believe that every survivor of sexual assault should have a safe place to talk. The Sexual Assault Victim Advocate Center is looking for dedicated advocates to provide support to survivors on our 24-hour crisis hotline. To ensure quality service to the clients we serve, all advocates must be 18 years of age, successfully complete an extensive and enriching training process, and be able to staff several evening and weekend shifts a month. Fluent Spanish speakers welcomed!
