ABOUT US
In 2005, the University of Northern Colorado's School of Social Sciences, housed in its College of Humanities & Social Sciences, began an initiative to form a school-level research office and two "focused-research", or thematic institutes.
The Insitutes are the Heritage Resources Managment and Education Institute (HRMEI) and the Community Development and Outreach Institute (CDOI). The following are institute goals:
- Promote Academic Basic Research and applied projects amoung univeristy and non-univerity partners
- Encourage UNC faculty, staff, and student participation in Civic Engagement Activities
- Incorporate Research & Applied Experiential Learning into UNC teaching through the infusion of research concepts, methods, and student participation into courses, degree programs, and faculty-directed research projects.
RESEARCH OFFICE MISSION:
The School of Social Sciences Research Office Mission is to support faculty within the school and across the university in practicing their crafts, and to engage students in research, practice and preparation for post graduate careers and education.
The SSS Research Office operates under, and coordinates with UNC's Sponsored Programs and Research Center (SPARC), UNC's Office of Research and Graduate School, and the Office of Academic Affairs.
